Black Soap originated in West Africa and gets is colour from the ash of medicinal plants such as plantain, cocoa, shea bark and palm leaves.  Made with shea butter and coconut oil, it is antibacterial, antifungal, and has been used as treatment for a variety of skin conditions including psoriasis, acne, hyperpigmentation, eczema and stretch marks.

100% vegan, we handcraft our Melanin Rising African Black Soap shampoo in small batches and use fair trade, organic ingredients whenever possible.  Our formulation will cleanse the scalp and hair without stripping moisture.  As always, our products are infused with positive vibrations- the most important ingredient of all!

Helpful info:
This shampoo’s texture is not as viscous as store bought shampoos as it does not contain thickening agents.  Oil will separate. This is normal. Shake gently before using. Apply a small amount close to the scalp and work into a lather, allowing the shampoo to  drip down the hair.  Rinse thoroughly and follow with your favorite hair mask or deep conditioner.
